While most people would consider rain uncomfortable, photographers know it’s actually exceptional for setting up conditions for incredible opportunities that come after the clearing starts. So it goes… Rain, clearing, amazing conditions, more rain, more clearing, you do the math. After the rain, everything looks electric when there’s just a little sun. Movie and TV directors wet the streets before filming outside, just to provide that slick wet look. The countryside here in Slovenia is simply gorgeous.
Fall colors make it even more fun to be out today. And when the sun peeks through, well… you know. Heaven. All you need to complete any scene is a classic little white church in the corner. Fancy that… Hard to know if the weather contributes to the sparkle I see in the eyes of the Slovenian people, many stopping to say hi, some practicing their English and others just smile.
Lake Bled Glimpse
Spying through the clouds, in the right moment, little surprises pop up too. For example, Lake Bled has an island and in an opportune moment, well, there it was, for a fleeting 3 seconds.
Finally, for those who like waterfalls, you are in luck because today my friend I have a waterfall for you at an excellent price, but you have to wrap it up yourself. No deliveries. Courtesy of the rain storms these last few days, the rivers are swollen with more than the usual, and turning colors make it that more appealing.
Yet, day 2 ends with a downpour and a hearty meal at a local tavern. The Gulash was good, the trout more my style and the schnapps served free to all who wanted was a delightful and generous touch.
