When I set out to take this short 4 day trip to Iceland it was specifically to see The Aurora Borealis. When I first arrived, it was not looking good. We had severe rain and sleet/snow from the very first hour we were on the ground. Then, as the week progressed we experienced little “breaks” in the weather which became “shooting windows.” The timing was spectacular since as we arrived at our destination, the window would open and make it possible to take photos at each and every destination. Devine Intervention? Probably….
Finally, on the 3rd day a break in the cloud cover at about 10:00 pm delivered what we came for; a look at the Northern Lights.
