Funny thing about the people from Vinalhaven, they are nice. Really nice. Everyone who passes someone else in a car, waves. If they pass on the street, they say hi. It’s about the friendliest place I’ve been in the U.S. True, in Scotland you’re likely to be invited in for tea, dinner or more just for asking directions. Once in Ireland, a man saw me taking a photo outside his country inn, he brought out tea and scones on a silver platter.
OK I have to admit, no silver platters were presented to me today but… I walked into a boat yard and the man working on boats invited me to “poke around” all I want.
Think about it, would your boss tell a stranger to come into their business to “poke around?” I doubt it.

But that wasn’t all I did today, I got up early and made some more photographs. We went to the shore and scouted around, looking at the waves, the rocks and the seaweed, I thought I saw nothing, frustrated I sat down on a rock and just decided to stop trying so hard. As soon as I did, I noticed this.

So I guess it’s worth it.
5:00 AM is coming up quickly, I guess I have to start closing my eyes soon, but before I do I will show you just one more from the morning before.

OK, can I go to sleep now?
