So who the heck would want to leave winter in Boston only to go to an even colder, wetter place on vacation? What am I crazy?
Uh… Yeah. I guess. And by the time you read this, I will probably be there. When this trip was planned originally my friends and I are going to repeat the spectacular adventure from 2011 but Tony Robbins went and planned his Business Mastery event smack dab in the middle of the darkest sky of the year in Iceland. So I couldn’t go but I told everyone else they should. They postponed the trip a week so I could attend. Awww Shucks Guys… Thanks.
So bags are packed, no… stuffed. My Briefcase is loaded with computer and backup tools, camera bag, the smallest bag of all has a new 8mm fish eye that I can’t wait to use.
Speaking of equipment, the same as usual; Canon T2i body and Canon 5d MkII with 17-40, 24-105, 75-300 all L lenses. I have a spare 17-40 packed in my back since I slipped last year and it almost had to pick it up with a blotter. Luckily the wizards at Canon were happy to breathe life into it for a small sum, now I have a spare. Then there’s that new 8mm which on my Canon T2i (1.6x) will be a full frame 12 mm. That’s exciting, that’s a big field of view for a night sky. Can’t wait for the new eye of Sauron to gaze over this frozen middle earth and show me with it sees!
For the friends and loved ones at home, enjoy Spring’s second coming in January while I freeze and eat hot dogs as a staple food, just smile when you look at the sky.
More to come….
