It was New Zealand.
It’s just another beautiful place. I’m starting day 9 of a 15 day trip and I am noticing that my thoughts are more about being here than being home. It happened yesterday as I realized my mind was more focused on my surroundings than on my inner world. The inner world is quiet now, the outer world is bigger, brighter and more sparkly than before.
I can tell because simple things here have immense beauty. A roadside tree, the face of a sheer cliff with the muted colors of millions of years of mineral deposits exposed for anyone’s inspection or the bustle and jockey of the plants who want their place in the sun, just like us.
Even the rain, cold and harsh has its gifts. Who would want to go out and be in the rain? Comfortable and warm then wet and cold, but when you are out and look at how the rain paints to world, it’s even more clear than in the sun. Today this old horse buggy screams for attention on a day where the mountains would have hogged all the fame.
A New Day
And as we drive through a country where elves passed through the gates of Middle Earth, where hobbits and friends risked their own comfortable life in the shire, it reminds me of my own life and how by getting uncomfortable is where you accomplish your greatest acts in life!
So come join me on a journey to far away lands, to exotic places with friends and new friends to witness the incredible vistas you will soon come to know in your own way. Bring your camera no matter how well you photograph, it doesn’t matter as long as you can enjoy the process.
The equipment used to take the photos on this page: The mighty Canon 5D MkIII with the Canon 17-35 zoom lens.
